{"id":4164,"date":"2014-03-06T10:13:12","date_gmt":"2014-03-06T10:13:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wayofninja.com\/?p=4164"},"modified":"2023-09-25T21:46:44","modified_gmt":"2023-09-25T21:46:44","slug":"join-us-30-burpees-30-days-challenge","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.wayofninja.com\/join-us-30-burpees-30-days-challenge\/","title":{"rendered":"Join Us For The 30 Burpees For 30 Days Challenge"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>With the intention to join an obstacle race this June, I made a spontaneous decision to do the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/wayofninja.com\/2014\/movement-snack-30-burpees-daily-30-days\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">30 burpees for 30 days challenge by Joe De Sena (founder of Spartan Race)<\/a>; the penalty for not being able to complete an obstacle\u00a0are burpees!\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">I began this morning, doing the burpees in succession (with 30 seconds break between sets of 10). It certainly got me out of my groggy state of mind.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Would you like to join us&nbsp;(Andrea and Jules) in taking up the challenge? I will be resetting my own counter to zero, and shall restart the challenge tomorrow with them and several friends.&nbsp;So, let&#8217;s use this opportunity to get started on making fitness a habit together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to do burpees?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"650\" height=\"355\" src=\"http:\/\/wayofninja.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/burpeesspartan650.jpg\" alt=\"How to do a burpee, Spartan Race\" class=\"wp-image-3795\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.wayofninja.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/burpeesspartan650.jpg 650w, https:\/\/www.wayofninja.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/burpeesspartan650-600x328.jpg 600w, https:\/\/www.wayofninja.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/01\/burpeesspartan650-300x164.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why Should You Take Up The Challenge?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">This is a simple way to make fitness workouts into a habit and routine<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It takes no more than 5 minutes to complete 30 burpees (no excuses about have no time)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">It will be &#8216;fun&#8217; to do torturous burpees together (those taking the challenge are your training buddies and we will accountable to each other.)<\/span><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This is a great movement snack to get your blood pumping when feeling fatigued<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Burpees Challenge Guidelines<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Complete 30 burpees daily for 30 days<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The burpee variation used can be seen in the above chart<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The quality of your burpees matter (i.e. Keep your core tight when doing the pushup and be mindful of your back)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You don&#8217;t have to do 30 burpees in one go (i.e. Break it up into smaller sets and do it throughout the day. But you need to do at least 5 burpees in one set)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>On the last day, you should be at least be able to do 20 burpees at one go, before proceeding to the last 10.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Up For It?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I will be doing the 30 burpees in addition to my workouts and runs.&nbsp;We shall begin the challenge on 7 March 2014 and end on 5 April 2014 (use your local time zone and dates).
